Out into the National Park! Boat tours with a ranger
You can enjoy a special way to experience the National Park from April to October: on the first and third Monday of every month, rangers from the National Park Authority accompany you on a boat trip across the Rur reservoir – from Heimbach-Schwammenauel to Rurberg and back again.
During the trip, which takes around one hour and 45 minutes, the rangers offer a question and answer session and provide information about the Eifel National Park and its world of flora and fauna.
The Schwammenauel and Rurberg jetties are barrier-free. This means that you can easily board the ship in your wheelchair. Despite this, we recommend that wheelchair users bring a chaperone. A disabled toilet is provided on the boat.
Meet at the Schwammenauel jetty. You can also board the boat at the other jetties. As such, the boat trip can be conveniently combined with a walk.
No advanced booking required for the ranger boat tour. However, please contact the Rursee-Schifffahrt company in advance on 02446 479 if you are travelling as part of a group. Accompaniment by the ranger is free of charge but a standard ticket price applies to the boat trip. For prices and further information please see the Rursee-Schifffahrt website.
